How to Sow Seeds

The glory of planting your garden is unmatched. Every plant has its growing requirements. To provide plants the basic care, we have mentioned some basic steps to follow when growing your vegetables, fruits, or flowers.

Firstly, You will need:

• Seeds
• Soil
• Plant Pot/Containers
• Watering Can

Planting Basics

• Get the seedling pot and fill the soil.
• Sow the seeds in the containers/tray or the garden.
• Cover the sown seeds with soil.
• Water the sown seeds.
• To prevent fungi in plants, Soak the compost with fungicide solution in a ratio of 2 Gms per liter water. check our 3 in 1 Total Plant Care solution.

For Fine Seeds

Instructions for sowing fine seeds like carrot, petunia, brinjal, cotton, etc.

• Sow the fine seeds over a moist surface with compost.
• Cover the sown seeds lightly with garden compost or vermiculite.

For Medium Seeds

Instructions for sowing medium seeds like tomato, pumpkin, cabbage, etc.

• Create a V form furrow about 3mm deep.
• Put the seeds in it and cover the soil furrow with compost.

For Thick Seeds

Instructions for sowing thick seeds like marigold, cucumber, etc.

• Create a V form furrow about 6mm deep.
• Put the seeds in it and cover the soil furrow with compost.

Remember to water your plants in hot weather or dry surface.

Watering Guide

• Water the soil or the roots and not the leaves.
• Put a finger in the soil to check & water the plant if dry.
• Avoid overwatering plants. Keep the soil moist & not swampy.
• Use a well-draining pot to avoid water accumulation at the bottom.

Sunlight Guide

• For Direct Sunlight, Keep the plant pot facing a sunny window with direct sunlight all day.
• For Partial Shade, Keep the plant pot not facing the sun and away from the window.
• For Low Light, Keep the plant pot in a low light room to encourage growth.

Potting Mix Necessity

Potting soil or Potting Mix consists of peat moss, pine bark, and other rich ingredients, excluding earthen soil. Use Potting Mixture for healthy roots and plants with the following elements:

• Vermiculite improves air holding capacity and water retention or you can use water storing crystals to retain water in plants.
• For space, sand or perlite in the potting mixture helps in drainage.
• Peat moss, coconut coir, pine bark, or shredded paper also adds water retention to plants.
• For rich nutrients, choose a potting mix with fertilizers and compost.
• Pick soils that are free from stones or lumps.
