All of us love radishes, but growing this veggie may be sometimes difficult for you. Today, I bring some easy ways to do radishes gardening. But before that, you need to learn some basics about growing this loving plant.
Improve your soil for radishes
Before you go for gardening, you need to prepare the soil for radishes. As we know, every soil is not perfect for every plant. Thats why we need to improve its health so, follow the procedure:
Know more about your soil, take a little sample to the gardening centre to test- is it perfect?
Or, you can also purchase a soil testing kit from a nearby shop or online.
After knowing your soil’s nutrition, start amending it - dig the area where you want to plant up to 3 inches. Fill the area, with loose, well-drained soil and then, mix Plantic Water Storing Crystals. It helps to reduce water stress in plants and release excess water for better plant growth.

Once the temperature reaches between 60°F-65°F, start your plantation. Sow the seeds directly in the garden 6 weeks before the first fall or 3-4 weeks before the last spring frost. Make a space in soil bed which is perfect for the root ball and gives space for rooting. And then plant it. Fill in the area around the plant with topsoil mixture. After plantation, give your plants a boost of Plantic Organic StartDrop! Liquid fertilizer for better rooting and growth. After a month, when the soil lacks the key nutrients, feed your plants with Plantic Organic GreenDrop! Liquid fertilizer. Note: Radishes spring variety takes 18-45 days to mature, and winter variety takes 45-70 days.
Sow the seeds 1 inch apart from one another and 1/2 inch deep for better growth. And once the seedlings reach an inch tall, thin them out so, the plants are 2-3 inches apart.
It’s your responsibility to prevent them from any alien species (weeds). Remove the weeds from roots so that it won’t come back again. Also, don’t forget to water your plants when they look upset or dry. Feed your plants with their favourite mulch - Plantic Organic! Fertilizer according to its label direction.
Protect your growing from the intense heat by planting them in partially shady areas. Don’t forget to do a periodic check-up of your plants by keeping your eyes on its leaves and stem.
Check the radishes plant periodically because they will mature quickly. Radishes can crack if you leave it in the ground for too long. So, harvest them when they gain their ideal size and colour. It’s the best time which makes you happy (after all, its your hard work). Trim off the tops, roots and wash the dirt with water and share this lovely flavour to your beloved ones by serving it in their plates.
